The United States Landforms and Drainage Lithograph
High contrast relief shading combined with extremely detailed rivers and streams gives a vivid sense of America's surface textures. Most of the Great Plains are rolling, not flat at all; the tectonic folds of the Appalachians and the Hudson River / Lake Champlain Trough span nearly all of the East; the West is a thoroughly mountainous area relieved by a handful of large basins. This map is a great source of geographic understanding and has the beauty of a fine black and white photograph.
